Tucked away in rural north Norfolk, The Old Store on the Barsham Estate near Fakenham is home to Jo C's Norfolk Ale (pronounced Josie's).
Brewing was traditionally a woman's job carried out by 'alewives' or 'brewsters', and it was these ladies who inspired me to start my own brewery.
North Norfolk is renowned for its real ale and the area provides some of the best malting barley in the world due to its soil and climate.
The brewery is supplied by its own bore hole and uses Maris Otter barley grown in neighbouring fields which is malted at the nearby Crisp Maltings. In short, it's the perfect location for brewing proper Norfolk real ale.
My beer is sold in many pubs across Norfolk and is also available at hostelries further afield in East Anglia, London, Kent and the south Midlands. You'll also find it at beer festivals and farmers' markets in the eastern region. Bottles and mini casks are available at a number of retail outlets and online.
Please contact me for any information about our beers.
